Job Failure - ExitCodeException exitCode=1 Pivotal HD

Problem

A job submitted to the Hadoop cluster fails with the following exception in the job log:

 WARN [2015-01-01 00:00:00.000] [ConcurrentJobExecutor-0] (DefaultMrJobClient.java:216) - attempt_1446498321386_123_m_000000_0: Exception from container-launch. Container id: container_1446498321386_123_01_000002 Exit code: 1 Stack trace: ExitCodeException exitCode=1: 

Cause

This error most commonly occurs if there is a path mismatch in Datameer for the Yarn Classpath. See Job Failure - ExitCodeException exitCode=1 for more information.

If this problem occurs after verify the standard yarn.application.classpath parameter is set properly, there might be other cluster specific parameters that aren't set in Datameer.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, edit the Hadoop Distribution Specific Properties on the Hadoop Cluster page in Datameer. Click Reset Default to restore the default values for your cluster version.

After restoring the default Hadoop Distribution Specific Properties, re-submit the job to verify the solution.
