Handler processing failed; nested exception is java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: PermGen space

Problem

The following exception is generated in the Datameer GUI: 

Handler processing failed; nested exception is java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: PermGen space

This error is also logged in the conductor.log file with more detail. 

This error occurs in environments with a large number of Import Jobs that use a JDBC driver that has been uploaded to the Datameer GUI. 

Cause

This is a known bug affecting Datameer 5.10 and 5.11.

Resolution

This issue is resolved in Datameer 5.12, 5.11.4 and 5.10.10 and later.

To work around this issue, follow these steps:

1. For each of the JDBC drivers that have been uploaded to the Datameer GUI, copy the Jar file into the following Datameer Installation directory path:

<INSTALLDIR>/etc/custom-jars 

2. Restart Datameer to activate this change.
