Goal
I need to upgrade Datameer from my current version in the v5 branch to the most recent release in the v7 branch.
Details
When upgrading from Datameer v5 to Datameer v7, it is important to make two critical upgrade stops along the way.
The first stop is in Datameer v6.1 where you'll discover the YARN Execution Framework of MapReduce has been deprecated. It will be critical to ensure that all of your jobs execute in the Tez framework before moving beyond this version.
The second stop is Datameer v6.4. The only requirement with this version is to allow Datameer to successfully boot into the GUI upon upgrading. In the background, Datameer is converting and migrating its internal artifacts to comply with the current formatting. It is critical that you allow Datameer to complete this process without interruption.
Finally, you can move on to your target version of Datameer v7.
Please ensure that you are properly testing your use cases along the way at each upgrade point.
