How do I use an asset in multiple workspaces in Spotlight?
An asset is a resource used for analytics decisions. In Spotlight, an asset can be a Workspace, dataset, documents, or Connection. Datasets and documents are your primary analytic assets and each can be referenced in multiple Workspaces to perform analytic operations like creating blends, filtering data etc.
1. In order to reference an asset in a Workspace, first find the asset in Spotlight. Search for it by name (or description, owner, or other metadata) in the Find tool:
or click on the type of asset you want to find in the main menu on the left-hand of the screen and use the facet search to focus on the characteristics you are looking for (source, status, etc)
2. Next, click on the button on the right side of the dataset or document you want to reference in your Workspace.
3. Click the button in the menu that will open and then select the name of one of your existing Workspaces or press the button to create a new one.
4. Repeat the same process to add references to any other datasets or documents you need for your current project.
