Can I access Datameer without using web console?

I have gone through REST API provided by Datameer. Its asking Datameer Server IP and Port along with credentials for every GET or POST request. If I open Web Console only the request is getting successful. Please let me know how can I make REST calls without using Datameer Web Console.
Note : I am using Mac OS X Yosemite with Datameer dmg installed.

  The web server is the process that retrieves the REST API responses. It must be running and listening for the REST API commands to succeed.
