Import Job - File Type Query - plain text files / Solaries sysem logs

Hello Team,

I am trying to upload / import datasets that are plain text files. the source of these data are financial industry applications such as POS, or solaris system logs.

I do not know which type of "file type" i should select during the upload / import.

I do not raise a support ticket because this is not a system fault. but I'd seek your guidnce on how to deal with these file types in datameer.

I'd appreciate this is abstract question, I do have data set but I am unable to attach the file here due to data sensitivity.

is there any blog, documentation, materials that will teach us how to deal with plain text data files?

  Hello Anson.
  With the Datameer support subscription, you could raise a ticket for any question you have, not only for a system error or failure.

  The way to ingest plain text files depends on what exactly format/structure the file has. Datameer offers several options for a plain text file import, please refer to the Importing Data section of our documentation.

  In case none of the specific file formats fits your source data representation, you could always ingest it as a CSV with a suitable delimiter and then parse it further in a Workbook.
